thanks, that's indeed the cause of the observed behavior. I was working on a 7.31 SP13 system and it doesn't show the "change mode" option. I checked it on a 7.40 system and it's as you've described it. That's quite confusing, but I assume that on a 7.31 system an action will always be created in "Exclusive write" mode. I don't see any option in BOBX. Maybe the SAP-moderators can comment on this.
